Sunnyskies Bird and Animal Sanctuary is dedicated to providing loving care to unwanted animals. We try hard to give them, not just a healthy environment and proper medical treatment, but also a sense of belonging; we want them to understand that this is their home. Many of the creatures coming to Sunnyskies have suffered neglect and abuse, and it is here that they will live out their days. Old or young, sick or well, we will care for them, share our lives with them, keep them well, and most importantly, open our hearts to them.This is the last stop. We try hard to make up for all that went before, in the lives of many of our furred and feathered family: the cruelty, the fear, the lack of understanding, the physical neglect. All of our animals are provided for, in the case of our untimely deaths. When an animal comes to Sunnyskies, it will be cared for all of its life, even if that life goes beyond our own. Love the animals in your lives, and care well for them through sickness and health. Never forget their futures are in your hands, and provide for your animals should they outlive you. Comfort them when they are frightened, and look into their eyes, and faces and hearts, and share your feelings with these friends. Animals are loving, given the chance to love; they are forgiving. But never overlook the fact that the quality of their life rests with you, their caregiver--not just in the best of times, but in the worst of times as well.
At Sunnyskies Bird and Animal Sanctuary, we do not use pesticides--we use only environmentally friendly products. We do not eat animals. We support other animal groups that do wonderful work and animal sanctuaries that have assisted us in the past: The Oasis Bird Sanctuary, Chenoa Manor, The Wildcat Sanctuary; Ziggy's Haven; Pets Alive/Best Friends Animal Society; The World Parrot Trust, The Indonesian Parrot Project.
